Thank you for taking time to stop by my web-site. My name is Steve Dunn. I began making knives as a hobby in 1988 and in 1990 I enrolled in the basic forging class at the ABS school in Washington, Arkansas where I started forging my own Damascus steel. I progressed quickly through the apprentice, journeyman and in 1994 I reached the level of Master Bladesmith in the American Bladesmith Society and began teaching at the ABS knife-making schoool as a Master Smith. Finally in 2003 I was selected to serve on the ABS Board of Directors. In these next few pages, I would like to explain my methods of knife-making and show you some examples of my latest work. |

I prefer 52100, 1084, or L-6 for my carbon steel blades. Depending on the application, I use a variety of carbon steels in the Damascus I make, including 01, L-6, 203E 1095, 1084, 1018 and pure nickel.
